Audit

With every data center migration, consolidation or IT refresh, companies struggle to keep an accurate and detailed accounting of their data center IT equipment. In fact, it is extremely rare when a corporate configuration management database (CMDB) matches 100 percent.  There is usually a five percent disparity between what is onsite in the data center versus what is documented.

This is why conducting a full, serialized accounting before the gear leaves the facility is imperative when data center hardware is retired. If not, the business cannot be certain which equipment should be destroyed and/or recycled. Unfortunately, companies often find out too late – when the Certificates of Destruction (CODs) don’t match the CMDB, becoming an audit nightmare.

AODCX captures an inventory of all data center equipment slated for retirement, down to each hard drive, eliminating any ambiguity at the conclusion of the decommission.

AODCX conducts in-depth audit procedures prior to and during equipment removal to ensure no mistakes happen. The CFOs and CIOs then receive a valid accounting report with CODs for all decommissioned IT assets.
